In the last few days we heard about many new FAKE jailbreak tools, but I think this is normal cause they came parallel with the real new iPhone 4 / 3GS Jailbreak, which will be released very soon, so I made this post as a register of the FAKE jailbreaks, this post will be always updated with these fakes.
1-Sedna Jailbreak:
A lot of people talked about it, but Chpwn sent a tweet saying that the Sedna jailbreak is completely FAKE.

I think this is not an apropriated name of a tool, so Sherif Hashif (dev team member) sent a tweet saying this is completely FAKE.

Warning:iPhone 3G/3GS Unlockers, Ultrasn0w 0.93 Exploit Obsolete from Baseband 05.14.01

Sherif Hashim one of the dev-team members sent a tweet confirmed that baseband 05.14.01 and above makes ultrasn0w 0.93's exploit obsolete, he sent the tweet to warn iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS users should stay on iOS 4.0 & iOS 4.0.1 and don't update to newer iOS versions, or they will not be able to unlock their iPnones.

I think DevTeam have to rewrite Ultrasn0w again to works on the baseband  but don't expect it anytime soon as they already done with ultrasn0w 0.94 that would unlock iPhone 4.

Jailbreak iOS 4.1 Beta 2 on iPhone 3G & iPod Touch 2G Using Redsn0w

iOS 4.1 Beta 2 was released last night and I think it fixed some bugs and solved the proximity sensor issue which was plaguing some iPhone 4 users since launch. MuscleNerd has tweeted that Redsn0w Beta 5 can be used to Jailbreak iOS 4.1 Beta 2 for both iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G, But Ultrasn0w will not work as iOS 4.1 Beta 2 Changes the Baseband and need to rewrite Ultrasn0w!

If you've updated to 4.1beta2 on iPhone3G or iPod2G(non-MC), you can use this redsn0w from June to jailbreak. Just point it at the 4.0 IPSW (the public one, not the developer GM one).
(Yes – point it at the 4.0 IPSW even though you're at 4.1beta2).
Don't do this if you need the ultrasn0w carrier unlock!!
Note 1: This won't hacktivate your iPhone3G – but for those with legit access to the 4.1beta2 this shouldn't matter. Please don't pirate Apple software
Note 2: If you're at 4.1beta2 you'll probably experience network problems after jailbreaking. Until a new version of redsn0w is released, you may need to rely on afc2 access (such as FunBox-like file browser programs) to manipulate your filesystem.
Note 3: This is recommended only for power users who can deal with the problems that will pop up as the JB apps fall further behind the beta firmwares.

How to: Save SHSH Blobs of iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G

As I already Told you that Apple is Doing Soft SHSH Blobs, You will have to Save SHSH Blobs of iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G, There's two ways to do that, You can use Cydia to Save your SHSH Blobs or use TinyUmbrella (For myself I would choose Cydia), Check the two methods after the jump..
First: Via Cydia
Step 1: Open Cydia and Scroll Down till you find "Make my life easier, thanks" and touch this button as shown,

Step 2: That's it, Now you should see a message saying "This device has a pending TSS request" as shown,

Apple is Doing SHSH Blobs Check

The iPhone Dev Team has just posted that Apple started Doing "Soft" SHSH Blobs Check Starting from iOS 4, This means that like the 3GS and the iPhone 4, if iTunes can’t get your blobs (due to signing window being closed), the iTunes restore will error out.

Here's the post from Dev Team:

Those of you with jailbroken iPhone3G and ipt2G devices may now have noticed Cydia starting to save your SHSH blobs too, just like it does for iPhone3GS, ipt3G and later devices. That’s because starting with 4.0, Apple started putting a “soft” SHSH blob check in the firmware. The SHSH blob check is very real in the sense that if iTunes can’t get your blobs (because the Apple signing window has closed), the iTunes restore will error out. But it’s “soft” in the sense that those devices can always use redsn0w or PwnageTool to get past the error (the bootroms themselves for those devices don’t require blobs to be in the firmware files, unlike the newer bootroms).

So, Cydia is doing this to allow you to continue to use iTunes to restore to 4.x on iPhone3G and ipt2g outside of Apple’s signing window without needing to use redsn0w or PwnageTool to get around Apple’s annoying new restriction.

So Cydia Started to Save SHSH Blobs of older Devices as iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G as well, But we are lucky since the Check is "Soft", so it can be easily bypassed by using redsn0w or PwnageTool from the Dev Team.

MuscleNerd: "One More Thing" to Unlock iPhone 4

iPhone Dev Team has been working for a week on the Unlock, they already made Good progress by Planetbeing and MuscleNerd. Couple of days ago, MuscleNerd said that they are one step closer (details here), But Today, He confirmed that they reached to this step and they Got Full iPhone 4 bars.

Full i4 bars with custom “steve” background task spitting out “One more thing” http://is.gd/doJXt – all pieces in place:)
It means the “next step” demoed in http://is.gd/doLnz has been reached, so now there’s just 1 final step
Next step is to keep the task backgrounded like we did for 3G/3GS http://is.gd/dh7Jh. Backgrounded task is the unlock.

Oh, Forgot to tell you about the Jailbreak. Ok, It's coming very Soon as Comex already handled jailbreak for iOS 4 but he is waiting for iOS 4.0.1/4.1 Release, Also Geohot has already jailbroken his iPhone 4 but there's no ETA.

Planetbeing makes iPhone 4 Exploit Jailbreak possible

Planetbeing, one of the iPhone Dev Team has just posted on his twitter account that it's possible to develop exploits that could work on the future and not only on the iOS 4. This Jailbreak tool may be Comex's tool "Spirit" which was updated to fix iTunes 9.2 from couple of days.

Having the iPhone 4 bootrom makes it possible to develop exploits that are immune to firmware upgrades (unlike the Spirit family of jbs)

Early this week, I posted that iPhone 4 has been Jailbroken by planetbeing and we saw the first screenshot of Cydia on iPhone 4 by MuscleNerd. This jailbreak was userland but today planetbeing made it possible to develop Spirit Exploit Jailbreak for iPhone 4 and iOS 4.

Don't make as a crazy and ask about the Release time, there's no time for release but I'm sure it's soon and You can stay Tuned on Twitter or Facebook.

iPhone Dev Team Released Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5

Redsn0w has been updated, Now a lot of issues has been fixed in the new version [Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-5]. Redsn0w is used to Jailbreak iOS 4 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G for both Windows and Mac users by Easy steps.

Here's the update as mentioned:

The latest redsn0w beta should fix any APN or MMS issues that users were seeing. It's safe to re-run it on an already jailbroken iPhone without restoring…just deselect “Install Cydia” if you do that.

I already posted Step by Step guide to Jailbreak iOS 4 using Redsn0w 0.9.5 on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G, So there's no need to post another guide as it's the same. You can follow the guide posted here.

PwnageTool 4.0 has been Released to Jailbreak iPhone 3GS on iOS 4 [Official]

The iPhone Dev Team has just released PwangeTool 4.0 To Jailbreak iOS 4 for iPhone 3GS but with Old BootRoom, This Jailbreak don't support iPhone 2G, iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G. You can Now Easily Jailbreak your iOS 4, iPhone 3GS on Old BootRoom using PwangeTool 4.0 Then Unlock it using Ultrasn0w 0.93 which was released yesterday by Dev Team.

Here's the post in the iPhone Dev Team Blog:

NB: With PwnageTool 4.0 certain devices are not supported this is because they are not supported in iOS 4.0 or they are not supported by our software.

* iPhone 2G - not supported
* iPod Touch - not supported
* iPod Touch 3G - not supported


iPhone 3G

* If you have a Jailbroken iPhone 3G at 3.1.2 (but not jailbroken with Spirit) then you should create the ipsw with PwnageTool 4.0 and restore from recovery mode or DFU mode.
* If you have an out of the box iPhone 3G you should restore using a PwnageTool 4.0 ipsw using DFU mode.
* If you have a Jailbroken 3.1.3 iPhone 3G it is very possible that this can fail from recovery mode, if this failure happens you will need to restore using DFU mode.

IMPORTANT! Whenever you need to enter DFU mode, you will need to do so using PwnageTool.

iPhone 3GS

Summary: PwnageTool only works on previously jailbroken 3GS devices with the old bootrom.

* If you have a Jailbroken iPhone 3GS with the OLD BOOTROM and you DID NOT use Spirit to jailbreak then you can create the ipsw with PwnageTool 4.0 and restore with recovery mode.
* If you have an iPhone 3GS with the NEW BOOTROM this is NOT supported by PwnageTool 4.0

iPod touch 2G

* If you have an iPod touch 2G that is jailbroken (but not with Spirit) then you can restore using recovery mode.

Baseband Unlock

* iPhone 3G and 3GS baseband unlockers (those who rely on ultrasn0w to make phone calls) should always be very wary to update their firmware, however our Ultrasn0w application will unlock all recent (including the current) 3GS and 3G baseband firmware versions, once you are jailbroken using PwnageTool 4.0, install ultrasn0w from Cydia and you’ll be unlocked.
* Remember! This baseband unlock situation is rare, should you upgrade your iPhone blindly at the next iOS release please don’t expect an unlock - but for now you are OK (whatever state your baseband is in).

How to: Jailbreak iOS 4 on iPhone 3GS using Pwangetool [Now Official]

iOS 4 was released yesterday and it was a big Release, Also Redsn0w 0.9.5 has already Jailbroken iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G, But What about iPhone 3GS users? Follow the Step by Step Guide below to Jailbreak iOS 4 final version on iPhone 3GS..
Note: This is UnOffcial Method using PwangeTool, So If you can wait a bit for Sn0wbreeze or Redsn0w then Stay away from this Method

What you need?
iPhone 3GS running on iPhone 3.1.3 or iOS 4 GM
iTunes 9.2 From Here
iOS 4 Original Firmware From Here
Custom Pwnagetool build From Here
Update: PwangeTool 4.0 has been Released, Download From Here [Torrent] or Here [Rapidshare]
Steps:
Step 1: After Downloading iOS 4 Firmware and PwangeTool from the Links above, Open PwangeTool and Click Ok for the Copyright Window..

Step 2: Now, Choose iPhone 3GS from the next Window then Click on the blue arrow

Step 3: PwangeTool will ask you for the iOS 4 Firmware, Click on Browse and head it up to the iOS 4 you Downloaded above [iPhone2,1_4.0_8A293_Restore.ipsw]

Step 4: In the next Window, you will need to Choose some options, then Click on "Build"

Step 5: Now PwangeTool will ask you to save the Custome ipsw file, Save it to your Desktop
Step 6: You will be prompted ‘Has your iPhone 3G(S) been pwned before (does it have the pineapple logo)? If you are unsure click No.’ Then you will have your Custom ipsw

Step 7: Turnoff your iPhone device, connect it to computer via USB.
Step 8: Now hold the home button and the power button for 10 seconds and then release the power button and hold the home button for 10 seconds to enter your iPhone in DFU mode.
Step 9: PwnageTool will display a message once you successfully enter your iPhone in DFU mode. iTunes will also pop-up, Now In iTunes, hold the “Alt/Option key” and click Restore.
Step 10: Then, select the custom IPSW that was created [iPhone2,1_4.0_8A293_Custom_Restore.ipsw] and click the Open button.

Step 11: iTunes should now restore the firmware on your iPhone. This process can take around 10 minutes.
Step 12: Your iPhone 3GS will reboot automatically, Congratulations your Device is Jailbroken on iOS 4

This method worked for me, but if it didn't work for you (That's expected because it's not official) then wait for Sn0wbreeze V1.6 or Redsn0w 0.9.5 that will be able to Jailbreak your iPhone 3GS on iOS 4

How to: Jailbreak iOS 4 Final Version on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G Using Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3

iPhone Dev Team has just updated Redsn0w to bring support for the Final Version of iOS 4 for iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G. This update works on both Mac and Windows and make you able to Enable Multitasking which is disabled by Apple. Follow the Steps below to Jailbreak iOS 4 Final Release on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G.

Redsn0w beta has been updated to hacktivate iOS 4.0 for iPhone3G (in addition to jailbreaking the iPhone3G and iPod Touch 2G).
For now, the redsn0w beta release supports only the iPhone3G and iPod Touch 2G at today’s 4.0. It’s still a beta, so you’ll need to let Cydia reorganize, reload, and update after using redsn0w.

Steps:
Step 1: Download iOS 4 Final Version according to your Device from Here.
Step 2: Update your Device Firmware using the latest iOS 4 you have Downloaded via iTunes 9.2
Step 3: Download Redsn0w (Link at the end of Page) and Extract it, Then Open Redsn0w 0.9.5b5-3 and Browse it to the Original Firmware

Step 4: Select "Install Cydia" and choose the other features you need Including "Enable Multitasking" and "Enable homescreen wallpaper"

Step 5: Now turn off you Device and plug it to your Computer using USB Then Click Next

Step 6: In this Stage you will have to put your Device in DFU Mode by Following the instructions written in this stage
Step 7: Now, Let Redsn0w do the rest, Then your iPhone or iPod Touch will be restarted and it will be Jailbroken on iOS 4.

Now You will be Able to Unlock 05.13.04, 05.12.01 to 04.26.08 Basebands on iOS 4 Using Ultrasn0w 0.93 which was released today, Step by Step Guide posted here.

Reminder: iPhone3GS & iPod3G owners (especially if you used Spirit for your first JB) should stay away from iOS4 for now

This is because when you upgrade to iOS 4 you will need to Jailbreak your device, and no Jailbreak is available right now for iOS 4. But Remember that Sn0wbreeze V1.6 is on doors, Also Redsn0w 0.9.5 is coming next hours to Jailbreak iOS 4.

It's happening, The iPhone Dev Team has just Released Ultrasn0w 0.93 to Unlock the Final version of iOS 4 on both 04.26.08 (on 3.1.3) and 05.13.04 (on 4.0) Basebands, This Unlock for iPhone 3G and 3GS. Step by Step guide to Unlock your iPhone 3GS on Baseband 05.13.04 posted below..

Steps:
Step 1: You should have a Jailbroken iPhone, you can use Step by Step guide to Jailbreak iPhone 3GS / 3G posted here.
Step 2: Navigate to Cydia Source by Going to Cydia --> Manage --> Sources.

Step 2: Touch on “Edit” and then on “Add”. Type "http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com" then hit "Add Source". Ultrasn0w will be added to your Cydia Source lists.

Step 3: After you install Ultrasn0w in your Cydia sources list, Search for "ultrasn0w 0.93" and install this app, and it will automatically unlock your iPhone 3GS.

As you know, iOS 4 GM was already jailbroken using Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 and it added a lot of new features as Battery percentage, Multitasking availability, and more! So, I expect from iPhone Dev Team to release the final Redsn0w 0.9.5 in the next hours to Jailbreak the final iOS 4 final version which was released from minutes..

Also, There's unlock confirmed to Unlock iOS 4 on Baseband 05.12 and 05.13 (may be on iPhone 4) will be released in the next days when iPhone 4 Shipments arrive. So Stay tuned for the newer Versions of Jailbreak and Unlock for iOS 4.

Apple will push iOS 4 final version tomorrow on June 21st so I decided to write this article about the Final Version of iOS 4 for iPhone and iPod Touch, In this article I will be covering everything you need to know before updating to iOS 4 including Jailbreak, Device Support, Compatible Apps, iTunes, and More!

iTunes Update?
Apple has already pushed iTunes 9.2 for public for both Windows and Mac users, But the iPhone Dev Team advised us not to update iTunes to iTunes 9.2 version because you may can't jailbreak after the update but msf.guy already showed how to Jailbreak using PwangeTool Bundles, more Details posted here.

Jailbreak?
Don't Update if you got a Jailbroken iPhone using Spirit, comex the developer of untethered Spirit Jailbreak tool for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad has tweeted advicing people not to Update to iTunes 9.2 (This means not to update iOS 4) if you already have a jailbroken iPhone or iPod touch.

DO NOT UPDATE TO ITUNES 9.2 IF YOU ARE USING SPIRIT until I learn what's going on.

But Don't forget that Dev Team will release Redsn0w 0.9.5 final version to Jailbreak iOS 4 tomorrow when it got released by Apple so I advice you not to update till they Release Redsn0w, You can stay tuned on Twitter or on Facebook.


Unlock?
Oh, forgot about the Unlock, MuscleNerd a trusted person in the iPhone Dev Team has confirmed that iOS 4 on both baseband 05.12 and 05.13 will be unlockable and probably on iPhone 4 Also! Just Keep around for the Guide about the Unlock whenever it's released.

Apps?
iOS 4 got a new amazing Feature which is Multitasking between Apps, So developers have to update their Apps for iOS 4 compatibility. If you are going to update to iOS 4 tomorrow then Make sure to update your Apps too.

Backup and Save SHSH
You decided to update, then don't forget to back up SHSH Blobs as Apple prevents you from downgrading unless you’ve got a backup of your personalized SHSH blobs. I already posted Full Step by Step guide to Save SHSH of iPhone 3.1.3 for Windows and Mac users, Guide posted here.
Backup: Download iTunes 9.2 and run a manual backup (right click on your phone in iTunes, hit backup)

Device Compatibility
iOS 4 will be fully compatible with iPhone 3GS and iPod touch 3G but iPhone 3G and iPod touch 2G won't get multitasking, custom wallpaper, and Bluetooth keyboard support as Apple maintains the hardware isn’t capable. But comex is working on making iOS 4 available on iPhone 3G and 2G Also! But bad new for iPad users, iOS 4 will not be compatible with iPad!!

Unlock for iOS 4 on Baseband 05.13.04 has been Confirmed

MuscleNerd One of the iPhone Dev Team has replied a person who asked him about the next Unlock, He Confirmed that iOS 4 can be unlockable whenever it be released, he also mentioned that it probably will work on iPhone 4. The Unlock will be coming for both 05.12.01 / 05.13.04 basebands, So get Ready for the Storm!

yep...the final 4.0 next week will be an even later version and is confirmed unlockable (possibly iPhone4 too)

Apple will pushe iOS 4 this Monday (June 21st) for public and you will be notified via iTunes 9.2 and iPhone 4 will be Shipped on June 24th which is the date that the Unlock tool is expected to be Released on.

Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 Adds Battery percentage and Verbose boot

The iPhone Dev Team has just released a new version of Redsn0w 0.9.5 Beta 5 which got new features as "Enable battery percentage" and "Verbose boot" and more! It's the same as the last Release of Redsn0w which added support for Windows users. This version can Jailbreak iOS 4 and enables Multitasking on iPhone 3G and iPod Touch 2G.

Here's the update from Dev Team:

The latest redsn0w beta lets you individually select whether multitasking and homescreen wallpaper are enabled. It also adds battery percentage and verbose boot mode options. (Verbose boot shows you the kernel messages during boot)

Note: iOS 4 will be Released for public next Monday, But it's recommended that you don’t update as soon as iTunes prompts you about the new update. All you have to do is to wait till the Dev Team releases it's final Redsn0w for Jailbreaking iOS 4 and final Ultrasn0w to Unlock iPhone on Baseband 05.12
